At Slavic Baptist Church our vision is to strive to fulfill the Great Commission by supporting the preaching of the Gospel all over the world. Even with the internet, YouTube, and social media, there are still people in this world who have not heard the Gospel. Eventually the Gospel will be heard in every corner of this planet and it will happen with or without our involvement, God will always have people who will do His work. We have chosen not to focus on any one people group, culture, or part of the world. Instead, we look to support native missionaries with all types of peoples all over the world. We strive to support our missionaries with prayer and finances, and to provide assistance that we are capable of providing.
In process of selecting missionaries, same guidelines and principles apply to everyone:
- Missionary shares the same beliefs and convictions with Christian brothers and sisters of Slavic Baptist Church.
- Missionary is prepared for the ministry, and have been recommended to be effective.
- Missionary’s ministry is focused on reaching the unreached with the Gospel of Christ.
- We stay in direct contact and the missionary provides updates on his/her work.
- Missionary is accountable and transparent with the local church that approves and blesses him in this ministry.
- Slavic Baptist Church will provide financial support to a missionary for a predetermined period of time. After such a time, the missionary’s life and work will be reevaluated. Support may be continued, increased, or decreased according to the need.
Missionary committee consists of members who work closely with missionaries, and are not employed by the church. All of the work is done on volunteer bases and our goal is not to enlarge ourselves or to become a key figure in the Great Commission but to be faithful and obedient stewards according to the grace that is given to us. Missionary committee is under the oversight of the pastor and deacons as well as congregation of Slavic Baptist Church. We take seriously the fact that we have been entrusted with the donations. Our aim is always to administer them as wisely as possible.
